Stocked in curly maple, highly carved and stained very dark. All steel hardware. Lock, side plate, butt plate, and barrel are engraved. All metal is browned very dark. The nose cap and patch box lid are made from black cow horn.

I built this rifle for myself in 1997 for hunting. There is nothing shiny on the rifle at all. This rifle has been used for silhouette shooting, woods walks and winter biathlons (wooden snowshoes and traditional muzzleloader). It has hunted all over this country and Canada for deer, elk, moose and caribou. It shows a bit of wear but I consider a little honest wear a badge of honor.
